The United Way of the Virginias is proud to partner with the Appalachian Leadership Education Foundation to form the first Student United Way in West Virginia at Concord University. As a registered Student United Way with the United Way of America, students will have the opportunity to not only learn about the different types of resource development, but to develop, execute and administer community impact projects in the areas of education, income and health. Also, a member of ALEF Fellows will serve on the United Way of the Virginias Board of Director’s beginning in January 2009.

"ALEF Fellows were a natural choice for the United Way of the Virginias to work with because the group is composed of young leaders eager to give back to their communities. The students are smart, energetic and eager to serve. The Student United Way at Concord would not have happened without their commitment. We are excited about this partnership as we know that it will lead to more wonderful opportunities in the future." - Michelle Williams, Executive Director, United Way of the Virginias
