ALEF Selects Its Fifth Class of Fellows

The Appalachian Leadership and Education Foundation (ALEF) has completed its selection process for the 2010 ALEF Hamilton Class.  This is the fifth year that ALEF has put together a group of young men and women from West Virginia who have extraordinary leadership, academic, and social skills and who have great potential to be the leaders in our communities, in government, and in our businesses.  Each new Fellow exhibited the core values ALEF espouses – integrity, excellence, and service.

2010 The Hamilton Family Class

Stephanie Brock
Shepherd University
Stephanie BrockStephanie Brock lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia and graduated from Martinsburg High School.  She has a superb high school academic record and numerous awards and honors to validate her commitment to excellence.  She was president of the National Honor Society, a Golden Horseshoe Winner, and participated in many community service activities.  Stephanie attends Shepherd University and will major in English. 


Cherish Hall
Concord University
Cherish HallCherish Hall attends Concord University and majors in special education.  She lives in Lewisburg, West Virginia and attended Greenbrier East High School.  Cherish had a great high school academic record and was involved in many community and school activities to include the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Junior ROTC, numerous choir activities, and Girl Scouts where she earned the Gold Award.  Her sister, Cassidi, is also a Fellow in ALEF.


Michael Harless
Concord University
Michael HarlessMichael Harless comes from Cyclone, West Virginia.  He attended Westside High School.  He majors in pre-medicine while attending Concord University.  Like his classmates, Michael had extraordinary grades in high school.  He was president of the student council, captain of the football team, a member of the National Honor Society, and received many academic and athletic awards.  Michael was also engaged in numerous community service activities. 


Chelsey Rowe
Concord University
Chelsey RoweChelsey Rowe lives in Mullens, West Virginia.  She attends Concord University and majors in English.  Chelsey graduated from Wyoming East High School.  She had an exceptional academic record in high school where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society.  She was an officer in numerous school and community organizations.  Chelsey also participated in many community service activities. 


Lindsey Scott
Concord University
Lindsey ScottLindsey Scott graduated from Westside High School and lives in Oceana, West Virginia.  She attends Concord University and majors in pre-physical therapy.  In high school, Lindsey was president of the student government and engaged in numerous other school and community activities.  She was a member of the National Honor Society and won numerous academic awards.  Lindsey was deeply engaged in and committed to community service.


Tierra Sheppard
Concord University
Tierra SheppardTierra Sheppard attends Concord University and majors in psychology.  She went to Greenbrier East High School and lives in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.  Tierra had excellent grades in high school and was deeply engaged in Girl Scouts where she was given the Gold Award for scouting.  She participated in Junior ROTC, student government, track, soccer, and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 



Tara Stanley
Concord University
Tara StanleyTara Stanley lives in Oceana, West Virginia.  She graduated from Westside High School.  She attends Concord University and majors in pre-medicine.  Tara had superb academic record in high school where she was a member of the National Honor Society.  She was active in numerous high school organizations to include the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Hi-Y, and student government.  Chelsey also participated in several community service activities.
