ALEF Selects Fellows for its Eighth Year (The Hotel Class)

The Hotel Class is composed of nine outstanding young men and women who have extraordinary academic records, have great character, and have demonstrated the potential to become leaders in our communities and in our businesses. These Fellows come from across the State and will undertake majors with our partnering universities that will allow them to migrate to senior positions that will help shape future public and business policies.

The new Fellows include:

Daylea Cline
Concord University

BlankenshipAttended Mingo Central High School and graduated with a 4.00 GPS.  She will attend Concord University and be a Pre-Med major.  Daylea was engaged in numerous community and school activities to include the National Honor Society and West Virginia Girls State.  She won several awards for her commitment to academics and for her volunteer service.

 

Dakota Cochenour
Concord University

Shea BoothAttended Mingo Central High School and graduated with a 3.93 GPA.  He will attend Concord University and will major in Biology.  Dakota was deeply involved in student government and served as president of several classes.  He was a member of several school and community organizations to include the National Honor Society and the Governor’s Academy.  Dakota was also very active in community service throughout his high school career.


Grant Davis
Shepherd University

Taylor BrownAttended Martinsburg HS and graduated with a 4.45 GPA.  He will attend Shepherd University and major in Accounting.  Grant was in the National Honor Society, Captain of the Tennis Team, a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletics, and several other school and community organizations.  He won numerous awards in tennis and was committed to community service as was evidenced by his many hours of volunteer work.



Bethany Dean
Shepherd University

Callie BurdissAttended Martinsburg HS and graduated with a 4.25 GPA.  She will attend Shepherd University and major in Nursing.  Bethany was involved with 9 different high school and community activities and performed over 150 hours of volunteer service this past year.  She was a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Government Association, the Spanish and Science Honors Societies as part of her school activities.

 

Casey France
Concord University

Jordan ButtsAttended Logan High School and graduated with a 4.19 GPA.  He will attend Concord University.  Casey will be a Chemistry/Biology major.  He was a member of the National Honor Society, attended the Governor’s Academy, and received numerous academic awards.  Casey also was heavily engaged in volunteer service as part of his high school activities.

 

Alicia Napier
Shepherd University

David ChaneyAttended Greenbrier East HS and graduated with a 4.02 GPA.  She will attend Shepherd University and major in Nursing.  Alicia was a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Government Association, the Fellowship of Christian Athletics and eight other high school activities.  She performed over 50 hours of community service this past year and won numerous awards.

 

Kyle Huffman
Shepherd University

Hannah GroweAttended Martinsburg HS and graduated with a 3.81 GPA.  He will attend Shepherd University and major in Political Science.  Kyle participated in 13 high school and community activities to include the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletics, and the Student Government Association.  He won numerous awards in high school and performed over 140 hours of community service this past year.

 

Robert Andrew Sherrill
Marshall University

Ronald Trey LockhartAttended Martinsburg High School and graduated with a 4.13 GPA.  Andy was very much engaged in community service while attending high school.  He will attend Marshall University and follow a Civil Engineering major.

 



Allison Sizemore
Concord University

SizemoreAttended Wyoming East High School and graduated with a 4.04 GPA.  She will attend Concord University and major in Elementary Education.  Allison was heavily involved in student government, a member of the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and numerous other organizations.  She received numerous academic and sports awards during her high school career.
